Jefta van Dinther - REMACHINE

Tanz / Theater

Tanzwerkstatt Europa

REMACHINE” explores the fragile interplay between humans and their hyper-mechanized environment. Six performers balance on an inexorably rotating disk – a dance between constraint and freedom that impressively reflects the contradictory state of our present self. Body, light, voice and sound merge to create a captivating stage experience. Via a powerful orchestration, and in a new collaboration with composer Anna von Hausswolff, Jefta van Dinther immerses us in a meditation on discipline, restlessness and the power of the mind over the body.

Before and after the performances, JOINT ADVENTURES presents the lecture and discussion series ‘We are the state!’. Sociologists, political scientists, dance and performance theorists and artists open up their perspectives on social coexistence and invite us to enter into dialogue about the basic conditions of living together.
