Moritz Ostruschnjak - NON + ULTRAS

Juventus Turin, Kirmes Pirmasens, High as fuck, Sauerland Powerland, Iran and All Blacks – these and other slogans are proclaimed on 500 scarves in “NON + ULTRAS”. Moritz Ostruschnjak, one of the most internationally sought-after German choreographers, traces the connections between fanaticism and political protest – and uses the logic of social media in his unmistakable style. On the surface, soccer is everywhere. Stadium chants, videos of matches, FIFA meetings, Bengalos, mascots. Underneath, fan culture blurs into the political sphere and shows a society that surrenders to the power of images and fractures into polarization.

Before and after the performances, JOINT ADVENTURES presents the lecture and discussion series ‘We are the state!’. Sociologists, political scientists, dance and performance theorists and artists open up their perspectives on social coexistence and invite us to enter into dialogue about the basic conditions of living together.
